How to install your eSIM

Two minutes, on the phone that will use the data. Do this on Wi-Fi before you fly.

Before you start

iPhone (iOS 17 and later)

  1. Open Settings → Cellular (or Mobile Service).
  2. Tap Add eSIM, then Use QR Code.
  3. Scan the QR code from your order page, or tap the install link if you are reading this on the travelling phone.
  4. Label the plan something you will recognise, e.g. “Japan trip”.
  5. Leave the new line switched OFF until you land. Set your home line as default for calls and messages.
  6. On arrival: turn the travel line on, and turn Data Roaming ON for that line only. This is required — the eSIM roams by design.

Android (Pixel, Samsung and most others)

  1. Open Settings → Network & internet → SIMs (Samsung: Connections → SIM manager).
  2. Tap Add eSIM / Add mobile plan, then Scan QR code.
  3. Scan the QR code from your order page.
  4. Keep the plan switched off until you arrive, then enable it and turn on Roaming for that SIM.

Installing without a QR code

Every order page also shows an SM-DP+ address and an activation code. On both platforms there is an “Enter details manually” option that takes those two values.
